At Q-Processes Inc., we help our clients solve problems. Our Training and Consulting services are focused on continually improving systems, products, and people. We view the business through the client's eyes, and work to do the right thing, not the next big thing.
Our services are devloped to effectively address the client's specific needs and goals. We involve our clients through all phases of their project while promoting project management strategies to assure effective completion. | TRAINING SERVICES
Creating quality management systems or solving problems for our clients inevitably necessitates the need for training. For these situations, we assess the training need, design the training program to suit the need, deliver the training, and measure its effectiveness. We also have "Standardized" training courses that have been developed as common needs and interests become apparant within the industry. Below are some of the Standardized training packages. Our instructors have trained over 80,000 participants.
Avanced Product Quality Planning (APQP): This course can be a 1 day overview or a longer work-shop depending on the coverage of some of the specific tools within the process. All phases of APQP are covered, and is alligned with the quidelines of the AIAG.
Design of Experiments: The D.O.E. course has been presented on an on-going basis for DaimlerChrysler Corporation since 1984, and is now required for their Master Black Belt certification. The course covers everything you need to design simple full factorials, more complex fractional factorials, and the Taguchi Methods. The focus is on the effective use of DOE within the demanding production environment. Can be 3 or 4 days in duration, can be delivered using live application assignments.
FMEA & Control Plan: This course is alligned with the AIAG guidelines. Can be delivered in a 12 to 16 hour format, depending upon the degree of practice applications desired. The two are usually taught together but can be presented separately.
Internal Quality System Audit: Contents are alligned with the ISO standards. Presentation can be modified to use case studies and check lists for QS-9000, TS-16949, and T&E Supplement to QS-9000. Course includes audit planning, audit conduct, check list development, interpretation of findings, reporting of findings, numerous practice opportunities. Can be performed in a 1 to 3 day format.
Measurement System Analysis: Alligned with the guidelines of the AIAG, this course can be given in a 1 to 2 day format. Repeatability, Reproductibility, Accuracy, Precision, Linearity, Blind Studies, difficult products (out of round, not uniform) and other study procedures are examined.
Poka-yoke (introduction): Normally delivered in a 1 day format, the course details the poka-yoke strategy, methods, and tools. Practice examples are given to participants to develop related skills.
Project Management: Can be delivered in a 12 to 16 hour format, this course outlines the basic process and tools of project management. Project definition, planning, execution & management, sequencing deliverables, etc.
Reliability & Maintainability: One day in duration, is alligned with guidelines of T&E supplement to QS-9000. Contents are modeled from the R&M guidelines of the SAE.
Root Cause Analysis & 8D Problem Solving: Can range from 2 - 3 days in duration depending upon use of a live application assignment. Contents are; Problem Definition, Problem Specification, Use of Logical Questioning, Collection and Interpretation of Data, Statistical Tools, Identifying Root Cause, Confirmation, Implementing Permanant Corrective Actions.
Statistical Process Control: This course can range from 1 to 3 days depending on the target group. Contents are alligned with the AIAG, with ability to add Short Run SPC for aerospace and other industries that produce small lot sizes of materials. Basic contents; Prevent vs. Detection, Variation, Common vs. Special Variation, Normal Distribution, Average, Standard Deviation, Process Capability, CR, PR, Cp, Pp, Cpk, Ppk, X-bar % R charts, Xi & MR charts, Median charts, p charts, np charts, c charts, u charts.
Team Building & Facilitation: Normally delivered in a 2 day format. Can be beneficial for self-directed or project specific teams. Contents include; Quality Leadership, Listening Skills, Organization Structure, Team Structure, Roles of Advisors - Facilitators - Team Members, Meeting Structure & Documentation, Use of Scientific Methods, Decision Making & Consensus Reaching, Team Dynamics, Handling Problem Participants, Stages of Team Development, etc.

CONSULTING SERVICES
Our consulting services may be in regards to a full quality management system, or components thereof. Typical consulting engagements have been in the areas of;
Quality Systems: From the ground up or simply improving an existing system. System documentation, implementation, and improvement.
ISO Registration: Starting with the initial Gap Analysis, to system documentation, implementation, screening of registrars, and securing the certificate. ISO-9000: 2000, QS-9000, TS-16949, and the T&E Supplement to QS-9000.
Continuous Improvement: Focus is usually on Lean Systems, Cycle Time Reduction though for some businesses, more traditional approaches like Total Quality Management or Self Directed Work Teams can be implemented.
Master Black Belt Support: Six sigma black belts sometimes run into situations that tax their training. We can serve as sounding boards to assist in project strategy, implementation, and data interpretation to assure successfull waste reduction, verify savings, and improve quality.

CONTRACT ASSIGNMENTS
Sometimes our clients have need for personnel to perform technical duties without adding to their payrolls. We can offer the following technical services on a contract basis;
Inspection Services: Inspection, sorting, and rework services can be supplied at the client location, or their customer location.
Quality Management & Quality Engineering: Need an interim Quality Manager or Quality Engineer? We can fill a temporary overload, or short staff until the need is addressed.
Project Management: Sometimes a business gets "lucky" and acquires sudden increases in contract awards with all the related lead times (or lack of). We can offer Project Management services to help launch the product during these situations.
